Instructor – MATLAB Software

Workshop, Iran University of Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering Department, 2014

Role

Served as the primary instructor for an intensive undergraduate workshop on MATLAB programming and its applications in mechanical engineering. The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of numerical computing, visualization, and engineering problem-solving using MATLAB.

Responsibilities

  • Developed and delivered lecture content covering MATLAB syntax, scripting, and programming fundamentals.
  • Designed hands-on exercises for matrix operations, function writing, numerical methods, and data visualization.
  • Guided students through applications relevant to mechanical engineering, including solving differential equations, curve fitting, simulation tasks, and basic signal processing.
  • Provided one-on-one support during lab sessions and offered feedback on assignments and mini-projects.

Topics Covered

  • MATLAB workspace, variables, arrays, and matrix operations
  • Script and function development
  • Plotting and data visualization (2D and basic 3D)
  • Numerical methods: root finding, integration, ODE solving
  • Basic simulation and engineering computation workflows
